In parallel I am a Professor and Prorector at „Burg Giebichenstein University for Art and Design Halle“ – one of the biggest German Art Universities founded in 1915.
Teaching gives me the possibility to pass on what I‘ve learned over the years and gives me the opportunity to experiment with new technologies and formats to update and expand my professional knowledge continuously.
In my early professional career I co-founded and lead SCHOLZ & VOLKMER for almost a decade – todays largest German multimedia agency.
The work I was responsible for has been awarded with over 100 national and international design and multimedia awards, like Cannes Lions, ADC New York, London International Advertising Awards, New York Festivals, Clio, One Show, Cresta, DDC, and many more.
I love going on the hunt for the individual potential that lays in each given task – whether it’s an idea, a brand, a product or a service. Once identified I focus, condense and excerpt the essence of it and transform it into a message, a design, a product, an application, …
Besides that I enjoy working with nice people and appreciate its side effects: the positive influences it has on the results.
I develop solutions in the broad field of multimedia – from digital products to interactive installations, from data visualization to augmented- and virtual reality applications.
I develop brand strategies for companies, brands and products. I focus on individuality, creativity and design quality. What ever I do has to be unique in its field, relevant and durable for international markets.
I develop corporate design approaches which mirror the brand strategy. Based on that everything else can be produced – from brochures, to websites, from temporary spaces to interactive installations.
I support designers, companies and institutions in general tasks in the field of communication and multimedia, creativity and innovation or project related challenges.
I develop and hold workshops and lectures covering my working and teaching skills. Topics I especially like are good design, innovative multimedia solutions and the process of creating good things.
Since the early days of my professional career I am a member of national and international design and multimedia juries – as a member or president. From ADC New York, Cannes Lions, London International Advertising Awards to German Multimedia Award. The last 5 years I was the co-editor of the book „Jahr der Werbung“ (German Advertising Annual).
I support companies and institution in the process of defining, structuring and executing pitches in order to find the right solution or the right partner. I offer any form of involvement ranging from support only to covering the whole project.
