BURG GIEBICHENSTEIN UNIVERSITY OF ART AND DESIGN HALLE

Concept, Design and Execution of the opening event of the study year | 2016

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT I THINK, BEFORE I HEARED WHAT I SAID

Each year the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle is welcoming the new students with a ceremony that is appropriate for an Art University.

In 2017 I was responsible for the project. Luckily the Opera House of Halle joined in and together we created an entertaining and ironic evening – far away from the classic content: too many and too long speeches.

CREDITS

The project has been realized in cooperation with the Opera Halle – foremost Barbara Frazier, my dear colleague Elisabeth Schunck and numerous members of the BURG. The video trailers have been produced together with Max Mendez, Tim Nowitzky and Elisabeth Schunck.

The posters are supposed to catch attention. Weird sentences are referring to the character of the event.

Translation of the statements
_ I don’t have a solution, but I admire the problem.
_ Who can not convince, should at least cause confusion.
_ If I would be you, I’d rather be me.
_ How am I supposed to know what I think, before I heared what I said.
_ What no one can do, I can do too.
_ I used to be irresolute, I am not so sure today.
_ There are things about which I do not even talk to myself.
_ The most beautiful thing about me is myself.

The teaser videos were supposed to catch attention for the event and were shown on the social media channels of the BURG and its study programs.
